ATTENTION !!! THE EXPIRED VISA MUST BE PROLONGED AT THE DEPARTMENT OF VISAS AND REGISTRATION (OVIR), OTHERWISES YOU WON`T BE ADMITTED TO THE FLIGHT AND YOU WILL LOSE YOUR TICKET !!!
• To enter the country you need a visa. Armenia has contracts on mutual visa-free visits with the CIS member states (without invitations), as well as with Bulgaria, Hungary,Rumania, Cuba (provided there are official invitations from governmental agencies, or private invitations issued through armenian Department of the Interior).
• The Russian citizens enjoy visa-free visits to Armenia.
To enter the country they need documents necessary for leaving abroad suh as diplomatic and official passports, national pasport of a russian citizen, the so called foreign passport identifying his person outside of the country, mariner`s passport whose validity should be at least 3 months after they have departed from Armenia. Consular fees and passport check-ins are not required.
• Documents necessary to submit by the citizens of other countries to be granted visas:
- the foreign passport (a document for those without citizenship) the validity of which expires at the latest in 3 months after the supposed departure from Armenia.
- 1 filled out model application.
- 2 photographs.
If you plan to stay in Armenia over the period exceeding 21 days you will need an official invitation from the host organization.
The visa is issued at the point of crossing the border or at the airport.
• The duration of the visa to Armenia is 90 days.
• The visa cost ranges from $18 to $65 .
• When leaving the Republic $20 exit fee are due to be paid.
• The on-line registration for the visa to be issued is available at the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA.

As per PanARMENIAN Agency, the entry regime for the citizens of both countries is simplified at the state borders of Russia and Armenia up 24.00 p.m., September24, 2005. To stay in Armenia the Russian citizens now are required to submit to the armenian border authorities one of the following papers: Russian foreign passport,national, diplomatic,official passports or mariner`s passport along with the evidence substantiating their intention to depart from Armenia. Meanwhile the Armenian citizens are required to submit at the russian border check-points the Armenian national passport duely stamped as to its validity period in other states; or the diplomatic passport along with the evidence on the intended depareture from the Russian Federation. It is established that, till March 23, 2006, armenian citizens entering Russia with their children under the age of 16 are required to carry the birth certificates for each of those children. The simplified procedure of border-crossing is enacted by virtue of an agreement signed between Russia and Armenia.
